When Daniel Gerlach, Remo and Stefano founded Viani Blackbit in 1989, they had no idea that the age of digitalization was about to begin. The advent of the personal computer in pre-press enabled the three founders to quickly make a name for themselves with desktop publishing in northern Germany. In times when graphical user interfaces are revolutionary, network specialists are rare and the Internet has not yet been invented, the Blackbit founders have no choice but to acquire the necessary professional and IT know-how themselves. The company is characterized by the founding years: Creativity, agility, the passion for technology and the understanding of digital exploitation potentials still form the Blackbit DNA today.
The digital revolution eats your children
With the release of the Word Wide Web in 1993, the founders quickly realized that the distribution and consumption of information would change fundamentally. The company has to adapt to the new conditions in order not to be left behind by the competition. So a new business unit "Internet" is founded and already in 1996 a web editorial system is developed for the company Schleicher & Schüll, which today belongs to General Electric. Already in 2003 Blackbit abandons the pre-press department. After already 14 years Blackbit reinvented itself.
e-commerce and content marketing
In 1996, company founder Remo Viani retired from the operative business to take over the management of his father's wholesale business. 1998 the first B2B online shop is realized for Antonio Viani Importe GmbH. Blackbit develops its own content management system from the web editorial system - optimized for inbound marketing and content marketing. The concept is convincing and so, despite the negative trend in the venture capital business, an investor can be won for the company at the end of 2002.
product information management, digital marketing
In 2006, the in-house CMS will be expanded to include a module for managing product information and an e-commerce framework. Both modules form the basis for the implementation of a very successful content marketing and e-commerce strategy for Antonio Viani Importe GmbH, which is completely under Blackbit's responsibility from 2006 to 2010.
The 3-C Commerce Strategy
At the latest since the spin-off of a spin-off and the search for an investor for his inbound marketing software, Stefano Viani has been dealing with digital value chains and analyzes successful e-commerce platforms. This is how the 3-C Commerce Model was created, which has since then formed the basis of Blackbit's strategic consulting and supports companies in formulating and implementing a digital commerce strategy.

Honours such as the Innovation Prize of the Initiative Mittelstand (which Blackbit has received on several occasions) and the Innovation Prize of the German Printing Industry confirm our actions and expertise, as do the awards we have received in the Year of Advertising (2013 and 2014). Recognition as Google Adwords certified partner (ongoing since 2008), as xt:Commerce Solution Partner (2011), as AWS Consulting Partner (2012), as pimcore Professional Partner (2013) as well as Hubspot Partner (2016) gives our customers the security that their project is in the best hands with us. Since 2018, we will also be continuously awarded the SEA quality certificate of the BVDW (article in the Göttinger Tageblatt).
